Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in S’pore estimated to add up to S$400 million to S’pore economy

Taylor Swift ‘s ‘Eras’ tour is estimated to boost Singapore’s economy by more than $225 million.

After performing six concerts in Singapore and wrapping up the Asian leg of her world tour, the 34-year-old singer will add between $225 million and $300 million to the city-state’s economy.

Her performances will benefit Singapore’s hospitality, food and beverage, and trade businesses, according to DBS Bank Ltd. economist Han Teng Chua, according to a Bloomberg report .

“These will mainly be supported by higher spending by foreign tourists,” Chua told the publication, adding that the city-state’s economy will be hit by “a large number of overseas fans who will attend concerts in Singapore”.

The trade-dependent economy “remains fragile,” Capital Economics economist Shivaan Tandon told Bloomberg.

“But growth should pick up more sustainably from the second half of the year,” he added.
