The NBA player and Hallum exchanged “I do” at a resort in Newport Coast, California, in front of 300 guests.
Maisa Hallum and Marcus Smart, his fiancee, are now wed. The Memphis Grizzlies player and his longstanding girlfriend exchanged vows in front of 300 of their closest family and friends on September 16 at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Coast, California. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics, Grant Williams of the Dallas Mavericks, Daniel Theis of the Indiana Pacers, and Gary Payton II of the Golden State Warriors were in attendance. “Our wedding was truly a fairytale,” Hallum sаys in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE. “Every detail came to life and made it special, and being together with our loved ones was the cherry on top.” “What am I to sаy?” “Everyone’s dream comes true, and today was the most extraordinary day ever,” adds Smart, 29.
The couple explains to PEOPLE that Newport Coast is a special place to them, which is why they decided to exchange “I do” there. “The grounds are breathtaking and the views of the ocean are unmatched, all around perfection,” Hallum asserts. A black-and-white color scheme pervaded the event over the course of the weekend, with gold and neutral accents added to each element. “A big thing for us is surrounding ourselves with friends and family and enjoying our time with them,” Hallum asserts. “We knew one day wasn’t going to be enough to live in the moment and see everyone, so we extended it to a three day extravaganza and it allowed us to be present and truly share the love with all who attended.” Before the couple’s wedding, which Erica Estrada Design Smart orchestrated, Smart expressed his eagerness for the momentous occasion: “I am ecstatic to be wed to the love of my life and to spend the entire weekend in celebration with our cherished family and friends.”
Friday evening, according to Hallum, their weekend-long wedding celebration commenced with a “wedding warmup.” Hallum began the festivities donning a party gown by The Attico and footwear by Rene Caovilla. Intelligent was attired in an Alexander McQueen tuxedo, a button-up shirt by Christian Dior, and Christian Louboutin shoes. After exchanging handwritten vows at the altar on Saturday afternoon, the bride made her way down the aisle accompanied by a bridal string quartet rendition of “Perfect,” a song by Ed Sheeran. Regan, a representative of Great Officiants, presided over the ceremony. Hallum attended the ceremony donning a transparent gown by Galia Lahav titled “The White Dress in Cоrоna Del Mar,” which was complemented by Christian Louboutin footwear. “The uniqueness and whimsical nature of the dress were the factors that initially attracted my attention to it.” She says, “Being a custom-made, fully sheer floral lace gown, it was extremely intimate and I could not have asked for a more ideal gown.” The bride and betrothed were attired in gowns provided by Cindy Cohen’s Moda Glam Boutique and The Black Tux, respectively, for their tuxedos.
After the ceremony, Smart and Hallum graciously hosted a lively afterparty where Grammy-winning vocalist Eric Bellinger and rapper YG performed. The couple performed their first dance to “Best Part” by Daniel Caesar and H.E.R. later that evening. Smart donned Christian Louboutin shoes and Louis Vuitton spectacles to complement her custom Giorgio Armani ensemble, whereas Hallum wore an Ines Di Santo afterparty dress and wore Miu Miu shoes.
The couple served a plated dinner consisting of ahi tuna crudo, gnocchi cacio e pepe, filet mignon with potatoes and asparagus, lobster risotto, and herb roasted chicken throughout the celebration. A seven-tiered red velvet cake by Grace and Honey comprised the entrée. Additionally, the couple provided a soft serve station and confectionery wall, in addition to a hооkah and complimentary marijuana bud bar, “for guests who so desired,” according to Hallum. Additionally, Raising Cane’s were supplied as a post-event, after-hours refreshment.
