MONEY HEIST: Season 6 — Official AI Trailer (2024)

Money Heist quickly rose to international prominence, particularly due to the distinct costumes of the robbers — the Salvador Dalí masks and red jumpsuits. These would then be seen not only in social media, but also on football stadiums, advertising banners, and even street murals. However, there were also negative responses to the show, with some pointing out Money Heist’s influence as a dangerous symbol of rebellion and terrorism. Regardless, the crime drama was renewed for two more seasons, with its season 5 divided into two volumes. Will season 5 be the last of Money Heist?

As Netflix released Money Heist Part 5 Volume 2 on December 3, 2021, audiences may be wondering if there will be another season. Sadly, it was already announced in July 2020 that Money Heist season 5 would be the show’s last. This was also made evident in the trailer of Money Heist season 5, volume 2, as the words “The world’s greatest heist comes to an end” were interspersed with intense scenes from the series.

Money Heist’s Spin-Off Explained

Berlin in Money Heist Netflix

While Money Heist would end with season 5, it would not be the last entry within Álex Pina’s universe. A Netflix spin-off, focusing on Berlin, a robber whose real name in Money Heist is Andrés De Fonollosa, is now in the works. Before Money Heist Part 5 Volume 2 was released, Netflix tweeted a confirmation of the series titled Berlin, along with its release year of 2023. Although there is no concrete information on the plot and characters, the spin-off is surely a prequel, since Pedro Alonso’s character, Berlin, already died in Money Heist Part 2. Perhaps his life before the first heist at the Royal Mint of Spain would be explored, especially his personal relationships.

Viewers around the world expressed their satisfaction over the show’s finale online. Some pointed out the emotional roller coaster in Money Heist Part 5 Volume 2. Meanwhile, the others exclaimed how perfect the ending is and how they wished the major Money Heist characters who died would have seen the team’s success.

What The Money Heist Cast Has Said About The End

Despite audiences clamoring for a continuation of Money Heist, the show’s ending came at the right time. In an interview with Metro, Álvaro Morte, who plays the Professor, agreed with this, saying, “The show is coming to an end when it had to come to an end.” The characters’ limits are already tested in the previous seasons, so instead of dragging out the show, it is truly best that Money Heist ends at its peak.
